RightHand Robotics Inc. has come up with a precision of the RightPick2 systems, which lets robots function with put-wall sorting systems. Since 2017, the system has delivered ASRS (automated storage and retrieval systems) that have been a segment of goods-to-person workflows and initiated similarly sized objects into sorters. The autonomous system merges computer vision, smart gripper, and machine learning, which is called hand, eye, coordination.
These automation systems from the company can be integrated with new robotic skills, thereby extending the warehouse deployment applications. With such a building approach, RightPick2 can be placed on the decanting side of put-wall sorting applications. The company understands all aspects including how they see, the way they grasp objects, and the way they hold up. As of now, these are in the fifth generation. Well, it is comparable to a change in a car’s model on a yearly basis. Everything gets better on a yearly basis but the pricing remains the same.
Apart from RightPick2, RightHand Robotics has worked on capabilities such as machine learning and barcode scanning. Machine learning does not bring transparency. RightPick 2 can be used within existing facilities with labor challenges and carry out ASRS sorter induction and function with mobile robot sorters.
Back in 2018, RightPick2 was quite innovative and came at the right time to qualify. RightHand Robotics brings robotic picking abilities to manual operation that could work. At the ProMat show, the company had 100 robots operating in different booths instead of an insignificant project. The company did a demo with EuroSort and picked out items and sorted them into the put wall. With the help of videos captured at a customer’s site, judges could conclude that the idea was real.
The innovation has helped RightPick2 draw positive attention to capabilities and offerings. The flexibility will make integration and adoption easier. RightHand Robotics will assist customers execute the automation projects before the busy holiday season. The company will spend time evaluating the ‘three Rs’ involved in picking such as range, rate, and reliability.
